Installation Guide
A composite balustrade can be installed in a weekend. Always check UK Building Regulations Part K (1100mm minimum height, 100mm maximum gap).
Plan post positions
Posts must be no more than 1.5m apart, with a post at every corner, end and either side of any opening. Mark the deck or substrate clearly.
Secure the posts
Use heavy-duty post bolts through pre-drilled base plates into the deck joist or concrete pad below. Posts must be perfectly plumb in both axes — use a spirit level on adjacent faces.
Cut railings to length
Measure post-to-post and cut top and bottom rails. Allow a 3mm gap at each end for expansion.
Fit the spindles
Slot spindles into the bottom rail's pre-drilled holes (19 spindles per 1816mm panel). Maximum 100mm centre-to-centre to comply with Building Regs.
Fix the top rail
Lower the top rail onto the spindles, ensuring all spindles seat fully. Screw into each post through the rail's hidden brackets.
Cap and finish
Fit decorative post caps. Check the entire run for level and rigidity. Apply a final wash with soapy water.
